I announced it to you last Sunday, the prices of the new C3 in thermal version were officially announced today by Citroën and confirm that the latter is significantly more competitive than the current generation.
After the electric version, Citroën formalised the arrival of the thermal versions and opened orders for the latter, composed for the moment of a single Puretech 1.2l petrol engine delivering a power of 100 bhp and mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Useful clarification: this Puretech 100 block is now chain-driven and not belt-driven, which dispels any concerns on this point.
As with the electric versions, Citroën is limiting the C3 range to just two versions, You and Max; the Plus version, which was originally planned, will not be available at launch but could be introduced in a few months' time. Like the 100% electric versions, the new C3 thermal is extremely competitive with an introductory price of €14,990, i.e. €1,700 less than the current generation C3. The C3 You has all the features of the electric version, including rear parking aid, air conditioning, electric front windows and, for the first time at this level in the Citroën range, Advanced Comfort suspension.
For its part, the Max version is priced from €19,200, very close to the estimate made on Sunday, i.e. €5,000 cheaper than the current generation C3 in the same trim. This Max version represents the top of the C3 range and brings the Advanced Comfort seats in addition to the suspension to offer comfort at the best level in the segment and, it seems, at a higher level and equivalent to that offered by the C4. The Max version has a 10-inch multimedia screen with 3D navigation and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wireless connectivity, which was not available on the current C3, although it is much more expensive.
Citroën also confirms the arrival, at the end of the year, of a micro-hybrid version on the new C3 with a 100 hp Puretech engine, equipped with a ë-DSC6 dual-clutch automatic transmission, with an electric motor of around twenty horsepower, which the brand announces as particularly efficient on the new generation C3.
Here are all the prices for the new C3 in the thermal and electric versions:
