Citroën Ami: still sales leader in France

Writer: JérémyJérémy

The 2024 Citroën Ami ahead of the restyled 2025 version

After a successful four-year career, the Citroën Ami continues to lead the way despite increasing competition, particularly from the Fiat Topolino. Although the redesigned version has been unveiled, the Citroën Ami remains the best-selling quadricycle in France for the first two months of the year, with consistently impressive performance.

Thus, in February 2025, in a market of 1,595 units and generally very electrified, with electric quadricycles representing almost 74% of the market, the Citroën Ami's sales remain at a good level with 546 units and a market share of 46.31%, well ahead of the Fiat Topolino, which is in second place with 341 units and a market share of 28.92%. Although the Ami's sales fell by 17.27% compared to February 2024, it is still very much in the lead in a rather difficult context with competition from the Fiat Topolino and the next restyled version already unveiled, which could lead to a wait-and-see attitude on the part of consumers. This is not the case, however, as Ami remains the undisputed leader with almost half of the electric quadricycle market.

Undisputed leader since the start of the year

These strong performances in February made the Citroën Ami the best-selling four-wheeler in France in the first two months of the year, with a market share of 43.51% and 1,039 units sold. The brand's small car is ahead of the Fiat Topolino, which achieved a solid result with 821 units sold and a market share of 34.38%, indicating a very strong January for the Italian small car and a less favourable February, with the Topolino's market share standing at 28.92% in the second month of the year.

Finally, the two Stellantis quadricycles are well ahead of the Aixam S10, which completes the top three best-selling models with 531 units sold since the beginning of the year, all engines combined, including only 188 fully electric models.

It should be noted that the quadricycle market as a whole showed a sharp decline in the first two months of the year with 3,335 units sold, a fall of 26.93%, but the 100% electric versions made progress with 2,388 units sold, an increase of 11.79%, for a market share of 71.64%.64%, a sign of a quadricycle market that has been completely shaken up since the launch of the Citroën Ami, which allowed Citroën, and then Stellantis, to firmly take the lead in sales of the quadricycle segment in France, all engines combined.

In conclusion, we could have feared that the Citroën Ami would have a difficult start to the year as it is in the renewal phase and competition from the Topolino is strong, but despite a 3050%, the Citroën Ami remains the leader in sales of four-wheelers in France, a performance that it also achieves in Italy and Spain, which allows us to look forward to the rest of the year with a certain serenity, with the imminent arrival of the restyled version, which will bring many aesthetic changes to make the Ami even more mischievous and with more personality.
