Black Week: Citroën ë-C3 matches petrol pricing in Austria

The Citroën C3 in red

While the French market remains relatively quiet during this Black Friday period—with the brand focusing on consistent, accessible pricing year-round in its home market—the situation is quite different elsewhere in Europe. Beyond French borders, Citroën is launching a commercial offensive with remarkably aggressive pricing.

Just a few days ago, we reported on the situation in Spain where, thanks to the "Red Days," the ë-C3 dropped below the €10,000 mark after incentives. Now, it is Austria's turn to make headlines. For Black Week, Citroën Austria is not settling for a standard discount: the manufacturer is simply aligning the price of the electric C3 with that of its combustion engine counterpart. This bold strategy confirms Citroën's intention to shake up the European market.

Electric-petrol price parity becomes reality

From November 24 to 30, 2025, Citroën is leveraging the commercial momentum of Black Week to make a significant impact on the Austrian market. The offer is both symbolic and historic: the Citroën ë-C3 is available starting at €15,490 (incl. tax). This price point is significant as it positions the 100% electric version at the exact same price level as the entry-level petrol version.

This initiative effectively removes one of the main barriers to purchasing an electric vehicle: the initial upfront cost. With this offer, Citroën makes the electric car truly accessible to all, without compromising on daily utility. For this €15,490 price, Austrian customers gain access to the ë-C3 YOU trim equipped with the "Urban Range" powertrain.

The offer is also notable for its inclusion of seasonal equipment. Mindful of Central Europe's climatic requirements, Citroën includes winter tyres in this price—an essential safety feature in Austria at this time of year. Furthermore, the brand supports this promotion with its "We Take Care of You" warranty, extended to 8 years, providing peace of mind for new owners.

However, it is worth noting that this "commando" operation is exclusive and highly targeted. It is limited to just 150 units and is valid only during Black Week. Promotional pricing extends across the range, with the ë-C3 PLUS "Urban" listed at €18,250, and the standard range ë-C3 MAX offered at €22,650.

Exponential growth for Citroën in Austria

This exceptional offer is not an isolated event. It is part of an extremely positive trend for the brand in Austria, where Citroën has recorded exponential growth since the beginning of 2025. The French manufacturer seems to have found the right formula to appeal to local clientele, blending comfort (featuring Advanced Comfort® seats), practicality, and fair positioning.

The brand's local management is open about its ambitions. Stephanie Haider, Managing Director of Citroën Austria, highlights the strategic importance of this campaign:

"This special Black Week offer is a strong message. Citroën is making electromobility accessible to everyone. Offering an ë-C3 at the price of a combustion engine car is not only an attractive offer but also a clear commitment to making electromobility affordable."

These words perfectly illustrate Citroën's current philosophy. It is no longer just about selling cars, but about facilitating the energy transition for households by removing the price barrier. Undoubtedly, with such a commercial proposition, the brand's sales are set to continue their upward trajectory in the Austrian market, consolidating the market share gained in recent months.

Black Week operations are proving to be powerful tools for Citroën internationally, allowing the brand to offer the ë-C3 at particularly aggressive rates, reaching or even surpassing parity with internal combustion engines. While French motorists might look at these offers with some envy, it is important to recall the specific national context.

Although France does not benefit from a Black Friday operation of this scale on the new car catalogue, the economic reality for the French consumer remains very favourable. Thanks to government incentives like the "leasing social" or energy certificates (CEE), the ë-C3 is, in fact, often already priced at the level of the petrol version, or even lower.

Consequently, the urban range version (200 km) often ends up being more competitive than the 1.2 Turbo 100 hp petrol version after aid deductions. Whether through punchy promotions in Austria or state mechanisms in France, the result is the same: the Citroën ë-C3 is progressively establishing itself as the most pragmatic electric solution on the European market.
