Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) represent a formidable strike force for Stellantis. As the undisputed leader in the European market, and particularly in France with a cumulative market share of 39.3%, the group secures solid sales volumes from this division.
It is therefore only natural for the automotive giant to make its mark at Solutrans 2025 in Lyon. This key event for transport professionals is the ideal opportunity for Stellantis Pro One to showcase its latest innovations. The goal is clear: to demonstrate to professionals, artisans, and fleet managers the extent of the possibilities offered to meet their specific needs, whether regarding bespoke conversion or energy transition.
The era of tailor-made: CustomFit and the Sortimo revolution
To meet the growing demand for modular and immediately operational vehicles, the group highlights its Stellantis CustomFit program. This initiative allows vehicles to be transformed directly at the factory, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and optimal control over delivery times. On the stand, this flexibility is illustrated by a varied range, from the Peugeot E-Expert to the Fiat e-Ducato, proving that customization is now at the heart of the industrial offer.
Anne Abboud, Senior Vice President of Stellantis Pro One, perfectly summarizes this philosophy: “Solutrans represents a major opportunity to reaffirm the strength of Stellantis Pro One: a unique and complete offer, based on quality and listening to the customer. Thanks to CustomFit, we offer high-quality, tailor-made industrial solutions, combining performance, safety, and support for the energy transition.” She also specifies that the group's ambition remains to provide innovative vehicles for every professional activity.
Beyond the factory, innovation continues through a strategic partnership with the equipment manufacturer Sortimo. Stellantis is unveiling a world premiere customization solution for the E-Expert: the “SRS – Sortimo Rail System”. A true revolution in LCV upfitting, this concept is based on a system of rails integrated into the floor and walls. The benefit for customers is immediate: total flexibility. Thanks to this system, shelves or units can be installed in minutes, without specific tools or technical expertise.
This modularity allows the vehicle to be fitted or refitted at any time during its life cycle, whether at a dealership or directly on-site. Furthermore, the system promotes cost-effectiveness and sustainability, as the fittings are easily removable and reusable on a future vehicle. It is an advance that transforms the utility vehicle into a versatile tool capable of adapting to multiple trades.
Electrification and innovation: from V2G to the Citroën ë-Berlingo Dangel
Electrification remains one of the group’s major assets, with Stellantis being one of the few manufacturers to offer a complete range of 100% electric utility vehicles. This strategy is paying off, with the group claiming a 43% market share for electric powertrains in France. To go even further and optimize the use of these vehicles, Stellantis is presenting significant technological advances at Solutrans, notably V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) technology.
V2G is an innovation that transforms the utility vehicle into an active player in the electrical grid. Concretely, this technology exploits battery storage capacity to feed energy back into the grid or optimize the use of renewable energies. Deployed as part of the European EVVE project and compatible with models such as the Citroën ë-Jumpy or the Peugeot E-Expert, this solution allows companies to reduce their charging costs while actively participating in balancing the electrical network.
However, one of the major new features that will catch the attention of visitors is undoubtedly the Citroën ë-Berlingo Van Dangel. This is a 100% electric van equipped with 4x4 transmission. It is a technical feat that combines reinforced traction, essential for difficult worksites or mountainous areas, with a zero-emission powertrain. With a range of up to 298 km, this model proves that going electric does not mean sacrificing versatility or off-road capabilities.
But Stellantis does not limit itself to pure electric power. Aware that the energy transition involves multiple paths, the group is also exhibiting the results of a test carried out by SP3H on HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) fuel. A Citroën Berlingo equipped with the connected FluidBox Micro sensor is participating in the European HVO Aurora tour. This initiative aims to demonstrate that it is possible to decarbonize existing fleets using traceable renewable fuels, without any mechanical modifications or heavy infrastructure changes. An ingenious and pragmatic solution to reduce emissions immediately.
Stellantis confirms its status as a global partner
In conclusion, Stellantis is truly pulling out all the stops at Solutrans to demonstrate the relevance of its new customization and electrification solutions. By combining the agility of the CustomFit program, the ingenuity of the Sortimo system, and technological advances like V2G or the Citroën ë-Berlingo 4x4, the group proves that it knows how to meet the multiple and complex needs of modern businesses.
More than just a manufacturer, Stellantis positions itself as a partner ready to support professionals in all fields. While the light commercial vehicle market is increasingly competitive, Stellantis is equipping itself with the means to defend its market share and sustainably consolidate its position as the European leader.
