DS Automobiles is preparing for the Concours Chantilly Arts & Élégance Richard Mille with a brand new style study to be unveiled on 15 September in the majestic gardens of the Château de Chantilly.
Launched in 2014 at the same time as DS Automobiles, this competition has become a must-attend event for car enthusiasts in France. DS Automobiles, a partner from the outset, has already won numerous awards at Chantilly, including the prestigious "Best Of Show" trophy for the DS E-TENSE in 2016 and the Innovation Prize for the DS E-TENSE PERFORMANCE in 2022. In previous editions, historic models such as the DS and SM have also won national competitions, underlining the importance of the heritage on which the brand builds its image.
To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the event, DS Automobiles will unveil a unique styling study that promises to captivate automotive design enthusiasts. Born in France in the 1920s, the Concours d'Élégance provided a platform for coachbuilders and couturiers to showcase their expertise. Chantilly continues this tradition by combining avant-garde automotive concepts with the creations of major fashion houses, creating a bridge between the past and the future. Exhibited in the enchanting setting of André Le Nôtre's French gardens, the DS models continue to seduce with their elegance and innovation. This year's edition drew on Citroën's heritage with a touch of neo-retro, reflecting the vision of the brand's new CEO, Olivier François.
Heritage and innovation at the heart of DS Automobiles' DNA
Since its creation, DS Automobiles has always been able to combine tradition and modernity, as demonstrated by its numerous participations in the Chantilly Concours d'Élégance. These creations embody the spirit of innovation and elegance that characterises DS Automobiles. The Chantilly competition, like Pebble Beach or Villa d'Este, celebrates the French way of life and allows DS to demonstrate its expertise in automotive design.
The future of DS Automobiles could also be inspired by the rich heritage of Citroën. The future style study, which will not be a teaser for the future DS 8 but could herald the brand's future style codes, is part of this approach. Under the direction of the brand's new boss, Olivier François, DS Automobiles seems to have decided to draw inspiration from the legendary Citroën models on which its heritage is based, combining the timeless charm of classic models with cutting-edge technology to prepare for its future, and this study could be the first proof of this. This mix promises to appeal to fans of the brand and car enthusiasts in general, while reinforcing DS' position as a key player in French automotive luxury.
