Citroën keeps its promise: an affordable electric range

Writer: JérémyJérémy

The Citroën ë-C4 2025

In 2022, Citroën presented the Oli concept, a radical vision that reflects the brand's determination to make electric mobility accessible to all. A commitment that reflects the philosophy of André Citroën, who promised to make cars accessible to all when he founded the brand. By offering modern, practical and affordable cars, Citroën has always sought to make cars accessible to as many people as possible.

Three years later, Citroën is delivering on this promise by offering the widest range of affordable electric cars, with all models priced below €40,000, the average price of electric cars in Europe. This strategy marks a significant shift in the automotive industry, where the transition to electric cars is often hampered by high costs. By making electromobility more accessible, Citroën stands out with an offer that is in line with its historical values of innovation and inclusiveness.

The new ë-C3: an accessible revolution

After the Ami, which revolutionised urban mobility with its disruptive approach, Citroën presented the new ë-C3, which introduced the brand's new design language while offering a range of 320 km (WLTP), optimised comfort and generous equipment.

Since its launch, it has attracted a great deal of interest thanks to its modern and pragmatic design. Designed for both city driving and longer journeys, it is uncompromisingly spacious, well-equipped and, above all, very comfortable, thanks to the Advanced Comfort programme, the first of its kind in the B-segment.

Citroën's objective was clear: to offer an electric vehicle that makes no compromises in terms of range, space and comfort at a starting price of 23,300 euros. This strategic positioning makes it one of the most accessible electric cars on the market and a serious alternative to thermal models.

An extended offer to meet all needs

Citroën's strategy is not limited to the ë-C3, as the brand now offers a complete range of electric vehicles, from the ë-C3 Aircross urban SUV to the ë-C4 saloon and its fastback derivative, the ë-C4 X.

The ë-C3 Aircross offers up to 302 km of autonomy (WLTP) at a starting price of €27,400, excluding government subsidies. Citroën is focusing on increased practicality to satisfy customers looking for flexibility, with a spacious and extremely comfortable interior. The ë-C3 Aircross is the only car in its segment to offer an electric version for less than €30,000, with the same amount of space, especially in the rear.

For their part, the recently redesigned ë-C4 and ë-C4 X have an improved range of up to 423 km (WLTP) and lower prices, with starting prices of €33,850 and €38,700 respectively, i.e. €7,000 less than before. By repositioning its models downwards, Citroën is responding to the growing demand for more accessible electric mobility better suited to different lifestyles.

In less than three years, Citroën has renewed its range and, above all, become the brand offering the most competitive range of electric cars in each segment.

By offering models designed to meet the different needs of drivers at prices that are among the most affordable on the market, Citroën is realising the vision launched with Oli. This strategy is not limited to a simple commercial offer: it reflects the brand's strong desire to reduce the barriers to the adoption of electric vehicles by making them attractive and affordable for as many people as possible.

With a complete range, from micro-mobility with the Ami to family saloons such as the ë-C4 X, Citroën offers an electric alternative adapted to every need, every budget and every use. The future of electric mobility requires greater accessibility, and Citroën seems determined to play a leading role in this development.
