Citroën is making a strong impact in the Czech Republic with two major firsts. For the first time, the brand is taking part as a factory team in the prestigious ČEZ Czech Ecorally Championship, a demanding event dedicated to environmentally friendly vehicles. As a bonus, Citroën will also be unveiling the new C3, which will make its first public appearance in this competition. This double event marks a turning point for the brand, which is continuing its commitment to the electrification of its range.

Citroën's first participation in the Écorally

The 13th ČEZ Czech New Energies Rally Český Krumlov, the rally that marks the opening of the Czech Eco Rally Championship, will be Citroën's first participation as a factory team. The competition, which started on 14 March, promises to be a great challenge for the brand, which has never competed in this discipline before.

The Eco-Rally is a regularity competition in which the competitors have to cover a certain number of kilometres using as little energy as possible. The Český Krumlov Rally is a prestigious and demanding event that attracts teams from all over the world and is part of the FIA World Cup. The event lasts two days and covers a total of 550 kilometres. Citroën will be represented by the ë-C3 driven by Petr Timura and Monika Homolová.

Petr Timura, a veteran of eco rallies, expressed his enthusiasm for this premiere and emphasised the importance of the event: "We are looking forward to the race to Český Krumlov. It's always a perfectly prepared and demanding competition that puts both the technology and the crew to the test. The two days of racing will be very long and challenging. Together with Monika Homolová, Timura is looking forward to proving the Citroën C3's competitive capabilities.

A highlight of the electrification of the Citroën range

Citroën's participation in this eco-rally is much more than just a regularity competition. It is part of the brand's long-term project to promote the electrification of its entire range. Every Citroën model, whether a passenger car or a commercial vehicle, is now available in an electric or hybrid version. The new ë-C3, which will make its first appearance in a rally, perfectly embodies this ambition and represents a further step in the brand's commitment to making electric cars accessible to all.

Lenka Martinová, Marketing Director for Citroën in the Czech Republic, emphasised the strategic importance of this event: "In January, we launched the C3 model, including its electric version. The new C3 Aircross and the redesigned Citroën C4 and C4 X will also be launched later this year. All of them will, of course, be available in zero-emission versions. Thanks to our diverse range, we are a major player in the electric vehicle market and we believe that the eco-rally will help us to communicate this message to the public.

Indeed, this commitment to the eco-rally makes perfect sense as part of the brand's electric offensive. The ë-C3 is one of the symbols of this transition to a greener range. Its participation in a major rally demonstrates not only the reliability of this engine, but also Citroën's ability to combine performance and respect for the environment. Through this participation, Citroën wants to show the public that electric mobility is not only a possible future, but already a competitive reality.

Citroën, a major player in electric mobility

Citroën is now one of the leading brands in the automotive sector when it comes to electrification. With a model range that includes pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids, the brand is positioning itself as a major player in the automotive industry of the future. The launch of the ë-C3 is an important step in this transformation, and its participation in the Écorally proves that electrification is not just a marketing ploy, but a driver of concrete innovation.

The new ë-C3 also represents a different approach to electric mobility. Thanks to its compact size, it is aimed at a wide range of people, both urban and rural, who are looking for an accessible and efficient electric transport solution. For Citroën, this is another step towards an ambitious goal: to make electric cars accessible to all, with models adapted to all needs.

With this double premiere in the Czech Republic, Citroën confirms its strategic shift towards electrification. The brand, which now offers an electric or hybrid version of every model in its range, is demonstrating through its participation in Écorally that electric mobility is not just a trend, but a deep commitment. The ë-C3, now in competition, is the ambassador of this vision, combining performance, ecology and accessibility. Citroën seems more ready than ever to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
