Just a few days after the presentation of the new Citroën Basalt, Citroën is continuing its momentum in India, confirming the announcements made at the beginning of the year. The arrival of the Basalt allows the brand to update the C3 in particular, which receives new equipment, particularly in the area of safety, allowing it to enrich its equipment and improve its value for money.
Since its launch in 2022, the C3 has been criticised for its inadequate level of equipment in terms of safety and functionality and, above all, for its lack of an automatic gearbox in a market where consumers are very fond of them.
This autumn, Citroën is correcting the situation by adding an EAT6 gearbox to the manual version of the C3. In addition to this high-performance gearbox, the C3 is equipped with new active and passive safety equipment, including six airbags, three-point seat belts for all seats and ISOFIX anchorages for child seats. Aware of past criticism, Citroën is now committed to offering safer and better equipped vehicles to meet the ever-changing expectations of its customers.
The update of the Citroën C3 is not limited to safety. The comfort and connectivity of the vehicle have also been improved to offer a more pleasant driving experience. The new C3 now comes with LED headlights, auto-folding mirrors and folding roof handles for all passengers, highlighting the attention to detail. In addition, some versions now benefit from an automatic climate control system, which enhances comfort on board. The MyCitroën connectivity suite of 40 smart features adds a touch of modernity with options such as remote start with pre-conditioning and geolocation. All these enhancements are a testament to Citroën's commitment to refining every aspect of the vehicle, as highlighted by Shishir Mishra, Brand Director, Citroën India: "We are delighted to launch the new C3, now with enhanced features and the highly anticipated addition of the automatic transmission option. These upgrades mark a bold step forward in our commitment to deliver the best driving experience in its class. We have meticulously refined every aspect of the car, from safety and technology to comfort and convenience. We are confident that this new version will appeal to an even wider audience, reinforcing our commitment to innovation and exceptional driving experiences that evolve with the needs of our customers."
Citroën redefines standards with new C3
With this update, Citroën seems to be trying to make up for past mistakes in India by focusing on a more complete offer, better adapted to the needs of its customers. The update of the C3 is an important step in Citroën's strategy for the Indian market, which is based on innovation and continuous improvement of existing models. New features such as power windows on the doors and automatically folding door mirrors complement the existing qualities of the C3, such as the Advanced Comfort suspension, which ensures a smooth and comfortable ride. In addition, the 26 cm infotainment system, compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, remains a major asset to attract connected drivers.
The Citroën C3 also retains its usual strengths, such as its 2,540 mm wheelbase, which offers generous interior space and comfort. The addition of the 6-speed automatic transmission mated to the 1.2-litre PureTech Gen 3 engine, which produces 110 hp and 205 Nm of torque, ensures a smooth and dynamic ride. This development will make the C3 more competitive on the Indian market, where demand for automatic cars is growing. The updated Citroën C3 is now available for order on the official Citroën India website and at La Maison Citroën dealerships across the country, with an attractive starting price of ₹6.16 lakh.
Citroën seems to have struck the right balance between tradition and modernity with this new version of the C3, which promises to appeal to a wide audience thanks to its many improvements. By enhancing safety, comfort and connectivity, the French brand once again shows that it is listening to its customers and is ready to take on the many challenges of the highly competitive Indian market.
