It has become a welcome ritual here at Passionnément Citroën: tracking the chevron brand's continuous and impressive seduction of the Austrian market. October 2024 is no exception, confirming this deep-seated trend in the most emphatic way possible. Not content with simply posting another excellent performance, Citroën has recorded its strongest growth of the year in the market, a clear sign that the success of its new lineup is not just continuing, but accelerating.

Spectacular growth across all segments in october

The figures for October speak for themselves, illustrating an impressive dynamic. Overall, Citroën recorded staggering growth of +95% across the entire Austrian market (passenger cars and light commercial vehicles) compared to the same month last year, reaching 691 registered units. The passenger car (PC) segment was the primary driver of this performance, achieving an exceptional increase of +148%, accounting for 506 new registrations. This success is not limited to private vehicles; the brand's professional division also demonstrates robust health. Light commercial vehicles (LCVs) posted solid growth of +22.5%, totaling 185 units sold. This balanced performance is a strong signal: the entire Citroën range is resonating positively with Austrian customers, both private and professional.

The year’s best performance after months of continuous gains

October's stratospheric passenger car performance (+148%) is all the more remarkable as it represents Citroën's best single-month increase in Austria this year. It is part of a trend that has only amplified over recent months, confirming a very positive underlying momentum. As a reminder, the brand had already posted notable progress with +37% in July, +99% in August, and an impressive +130% in September. This consistent acceleration, following several months of already steady growth, testifies to the excellent reception of the new Citroën lineup in the Austrian market, which is notoriously difficult and demanding.

Stephanie Haider, Managing Director of Citroën Austria, analyzed this success: "An October with overall growth of 95% demonstrates the relevance of our product strategy. The passenger car sales figures in particular, with an increase of 148%, underline the positive reception of our current range in Austria, from city cars to family SUVs. With our modern models, which combine design, comfort, and electrification at an attractive price-performance ratio, we are meeting our customers' current expectations for simple, comfortable, and affordable mobility. And with the new C5 Aircross, produced in Europe, the next flagship model, which will set a new benchmark, is already at the starting line."

On track for a record year in Austria?

With results like these, Citroën is undeniably well on its way to achieving a record year in Austria for 2024. The latest performance in October, the strongest of the year, shows that the brand is not planning to slow down. On the contrary, the fact that the growth figures are themselves accelerating so strongly is an excellent signal. It confirms that the renewed range, focused on comfort and accessible electrification, is being perfectly received in this challenging and discerning market. The fact that even commercial vehicles are experiencing sustained growth reinforces this observation: it is the entire identity and offering of the Citroën brand that is attracting and lastingly convincing customers in Austria.
