Citroën's massive offer: A €6,000 bonus to replace your 8+ year old vehicle

Citroën range

The French automotive market is starting 2026 with renewed energy, and Citroën is establishing itself as a key player. With a solid third place in sales for the first quarter of 2026, the brand confirms the success of its positioning focused on accessibility and comfort. True to its historic mission of democratizing the automobile, Citroën is now launching a major operation reminiscent of the great car scrapping schemes of the past. This initiative, called the "Trade-in Bonus," aims to remove the financial barriers that still prevent many households from renewing their vehicles, while addressing current environmental challenges.

A concrete response to the aging car fleet

Citroën shows a rare clarity in today's automotive landscape: the brand acknowledges that the price of new cars has become a major obstacle for a significant portion of the population. The direct consequence of this inflation is an aging car fleet, with older, often more polluting, and less safe vehicles still on the road. Although Citroën is the only generalist brand to have lowered its prices in recent years, it is now choosing to go even further.

The offer specifically targets owners of vehicles of any brand that are more than 8 years old. To ensure maximum proximity, this campaign is being deployed across the country through a dense network of over 1,700 points of sale, including dealerships and authorized agents. As Édouard George, Director of Citroën France, explains: "Faithful to its DNA, Citroën is acting to make mobility accessible to all. With the Trade-in Bonus, we are enabling everyone to drive away in a new, safer, and more environmentally friendly vehicle, simply and without constraints."

Up to a €6,000 trade-in bonus to make new cars accessible

The system put in place by Citroën acts as a real boost for purchasing power. By offering particularly generous trade-in bonuses, the brand dramatically reduces the required down payment or lowers monthly financing payments. These amounts, calculated based on the chosen model, reposition Citroën as the champion of modern mobility for everyone.

Here is the detail of the bonuses available by model:

  • C4 Hybrid 110 hp BVA COLLECTION: €6,000

  • ë-C4 electric 136 hp (YOU Trim): €6,000

  • New C5 Aircross Hybrid 145 hp BVA MAX: €4,000

  • New ë-C5 Aircross electric 210 hp (MAX Trim): €4,000

  • ë-C3 Aircross electric 113 hp (YOU Trim): €3,500

  • C3 Aircross Turbo 100 hp BVM PLUS: €3,000

This direct aid transforms an old car over 8 years old, which would normally have a low residual value, into significant capital for acquiring hybrid or 100% electric technology.

Electric becomes more affordable than petrol in leasing

One of the most striking points of this commercial offensive lies in the Lease with Option to Purchase (LOA) offers. Citroën has structured its contracts over a period of 49 months and 40,000 km, a formula that provides perfect budget visibility for households. The big news for 2026 is the cost inversion: thanks to combined aid, driving electric often becomes less expensive than driving a petrol engine.

The Citroën C3 Turbo 100 hp is thus offered at a symbolic rate below €100, starting at €99 per month. But it is in the higher segments that the brand's electrification strategy truly makes sense. The ë-C4 electric is offered at €139 per month, compared to €219 for the hybrid version. The same applies to the C3 Aircross, whose electric version is accessible from €139 per month, compared to €199 for the petrol version. Finally, the New C5 Aircross aligns its rates with an offer starting at €349 per month, whether you choose hybrid or electric. This price parity, or even the advantage for electric, is a major step in the energy transition of the French market.

A solidarity strategy for sustainable mobility

In conclusion, Citroën demonstrates with this "Trade-in Bonus" offer that it is not only targeting an elite capable of changing vehicles every two years. On the contrary, the brand is reaching out to motorists who keep their cars for the long term and who sometimes feel neglected by market prices. By offering bonuses of up to €6,000 and extremely competitive leasing rates, Citroën is acting as a true defender of purchasing power.

This intelligent initiative does not just sell cars; it facilitates a transition to safer, more comfortable models equipped with the latest driving assistance technologies. Whether the need is for petrol, hybrid, or electric, the brand with the double chevron now offers a financially viable solution for every user profile. With 1,700 points of sale mobilized, changing your car has never been so simple or so advantageous.
