Citroën C5 X: a new version in China

The Citroën C5 X special edition in China

Almost three years after its presentation and two and a half years after its commercial launch in China, Citroën is offering a new version of its large saloon to make it even more accessible than it currently is on the Chinese market but, apparently, only intended for company fleets.

This new special edition is an entry-level version with alloy wheels but smaller dimensions, which is the only aesthetic difference on the outside. Inside, however, the differences are more significant and show a significantly less high-end version than the versions currently on the market. This C5X Special Edition therefore features fabric seats and a dashboard that does away with the wood trim and returns to the aluminium-plastic trim, similar to the You version sold in Europe.

However, this special edition of the C5X does not neglect the brand's commitment to comfort, with double hydraulic suspension. Standard equipment includes the C-Connect 3.0 multimedia system with 10-inch touchscreen, online music/radio/OTA online upgrade functions, cruise control/speed limiter and HD reversing camera.

However, the real advantage of this special edition C5X, which should only be available to professional customers, is undoubtedly its price, which defies everything we know in Europe. In fact, this C5X is sold at a price of 137,700 Yuan, or just 17,650 Euros, a price that makes you dream. This new entry-level version, specifically reserved for professionals, should help to revive sales of Citroën's large saloon on the Chinese market, which is Stellantis' best-seller for the whole of 2023.
