The importance of the new C3 for Citroën is immense, given its volume, especially as it replaces a third generation that has enjoyed uninterrupted success throughout its career. After many months of waiting, I was finally able to take the wheel of the two versions available, the electric and the thermal, of which I offer you a short report.
A convincing thermal Citroën C3
The new Citroën C3, in its black dress and Max finish, starts at €19,200, more than €5,000 less than the previous generation with equivalent equipment. Nothing in the design, however, betrays the savings made and the C3 appears as a completely modern car with a truly unique attitude in its segment, especially when compared to the old C3 or the Opel Corsa.
The new 100 hp Citroën C3 petrol is distinguished by its modern design, its functional and warm interior and its increased comfort thanks to its raised silhouette reminiscent of an SUV. Equipped with a renewed petrol engine with 40% new parts, including a chain that replaces the belt, it offers everyday performance with reasonable consumption of around 7 l/100 km in mixed use and a balanced compromise between comfort and dynamism in favour of dynamism. However, there are noticeable vibrations when cold and some wind noise at high speeds. Easy to handle in town and pleasant on the road, it stands out for its intuitive multimedia system, which is simple but quick to use.
To sum up, the Citroën C3 petrol is an accessible and well-equipped city car, ideal for everyday use, with comfort and spaciousness that are among the best in its category. Even if this thermic C3 is not the best-selling version of the range, that role will be given to the next hybrid C3, it knows how to be appreciated by accumulating qualities without the search for savings being very visible.

A simple and efficient electric option
The new all-electric C3 offers a driving experience adapted to both urban and suburban needs. Its 113 bhp electric motor is both dynamic and flexible, allowing smooth city and motorway driving, with good performance even at 130 km/h on the motorway. Consumption is particularly low in the city, where the range can even increase depending on driving style, although the car is a little more thirsty on the motorway. The fast and efficient recharging confirms the C3's ability to go beyond urban use, even if long motorway journeys are more difficult. Inside, comfort remains one of its strong points, with excellent soundproofing and particularly comfortable Advanced Comfort seats, although the suspension, a little firmer than on previous models, favours better road holding. Finally, technological features such as the smooth touchscreen and wireless connectivity make everyday use easy and enjoyable.
In conclusion, the new ë-C3 offers driving pleasure, versatility and comfort, proving that an electric car can combine competitive price and quality features. A city car that will appeal to families looking for a modern and efficient solution for their daily journeys.
