Citroën C3: the hybrid version launched in Spain

After France and Italy, Citroën is extending the marketing of the C3's hybrid engine to the Spanish market. After the electric and thermal versions, the new C3 is now available with all the engines planned to meet the needs of consumers.

A powerful and affordable hybrid

In addition to the electric and 100 bhp turbo versions, Citroën is now offering the C3 with a hybrid engine, combining a 100 bhp 1.2-litre turbo engine with a 48-volt electric motor.

Priced from €19,700, the C3 is aimed at customers looking for a versatile and ecological vehicle that can drive in "zero emission" mode in urban areas, allowing it to benefit from the ECO label awarded by the Spanish General Directorate of Transport.

This new hybrid engine is only available in the You Pack Plus and Max versions, while the You call version is only available in Spain with petrol and electric engines. The C3 Hybrid is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, a 10-inch touchscreen, air conditioning and an electric parking brake, as well as Advanced Comfort seats and suspension, making it the most comfortable car in the B segment.

Features that strengthen its position in a highly competitive segment where style and practicality are key criteria.

A booming segment

Hybrid engines are experiencing a meteoric rise in Europe. In November 2024, they became the leading engine sold on the continent, overtaking thermal models. This trend can be explained by the constraints imposed by environmental regulations and the practical advantages of hybrids, in particular access to low emission zones.

For Citroën, the launch of the C3 Hybrid in Spain represents a strategic opportunity. The Spanish market, where hybrid models already represent 15% of the B-segment, offers significant growth potential. This launch will allow the brand to broaden its audience while reinforcing its image as an innovative and eco-conscious manufacturer.

A complete range to meet all needs

With the gradual introduction of the hybrid engine, Citroën is enriching the range of the new C3, which is already available in thermal and 100% electric versions. This choice allows consumers to choose the engine best suited to their needs, whether for urban, suburban or long-distance driving.

Citroën's strategy is part of a wider European dynamic aimed at accelerating the energy transition while maintaining competitive prices. At an attractive price, the C3 Hybrid is a real alternative for drivers who are sensitive to both their budget and the environmental impact of their vehicle.

By introducing the hybrid engine of the new C3 in Spain, Citroën is consolidating its electrification strategy while adapting to the different expectations of European consumers. This hybrid model, positioned between the thermal and electric versions, offers a solution that is both ecological and accessible. In this way, Citroën continues to follow its path on the European market, combining innovation, comfort and respect for the environment.
